- Minimum Age
The renter should be at least 21 years old and possess a valid license for a minimum period of one year. The age limit varies with vehicle types.
- Driver’s License
The renter should possess a valid Qatari Driving License or an International Driving License, along with the driving license of the country of origin or residence. International Driving License is valid only for 14 days from the date of arrival into the country.
For longer time periods, the client must procure a Qatari temporary driving license.
In case clients do not have a temporary license and are involved in an accident, they must bear the full damages to Regency Fleets as well as the third party’s vehicle.
- Payments and Security
All payments should be made in advance. An opened and signed imprint of the credit card (for individual renters) will be taken as deposit at the start of the rental.
At the end of the rental or lease period, payments can be made by cash or credit card. If the renter incurs any traffic violations during the time of rental or lease, the fines will be charged to his credit card or transferred to his Qatari or GCC’s driver’s license.
- Insurance and Accidents
All vehicles carry comprehensive insurance policy with an excess payable for own damage. The excess payable will vary depending on the vehicle’s make and model. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is available and can be purchased at the beginning of the rental.
All vehicles will be provided with minimum half tank fuel. The vehicles are expected to be returned with the same fuel level provided at the time of rental.
- Additional Driver
The rent a car is normally insured only for the renter. In case an additional driver is required the details must be supplied at the time of rental. This service would entail an additional charge of QR 25 per rental. For monthly rentals, additional drivers are charged QR 100 per rental.
Car rentals are for a minimum period of 24 hours. Extra hours would be charged one-fifth of the daily rate. Rates include insurance and maintenance but exclude fuel charges.
- What To Do in an Accident
- Don’t move the vehicle until given police permission.
- Obtain a police report of the accident, otherwise you could face legal action and bear all costs of repairs to the rented vehicle.
- Don’t drink and drive as this is prohibited and you could end up being charged the full value of the vehicle in case it is totaled.
The Lessee confirms that he received the car, the particulars ad the features of which are shown in this contract in good condition and is in running state and without any internal or external defect of any crashes. The car was received by the Lessee in the condition it was checked and handed over to the Lessee for the period of rent give in this contract. The car shall be kept with the Lessee for the period of rent specified in the contract and the Lessee shall be responsible for the car in both civil and criminal aspects. The Lessee confirms the car is privately owned by the Lessor.
The Lessee and other authorized driver are bound to take every measure necessary to protect the interests of the Lessee and Lessor’s insurance company in case of accident during the rental period by:
- Obtaining the name, telephone number, and address of the persons involved and of the witnesses:
- Not admitting liability nor guilt: if not so
- Not abandoning said vehicle without taking care of its safeguarding nor its security:
- Warning immediately the police in case the other party’s guilt has to be proved or in case people are injured,
- Obtaining necessary police accident report and insurance paper.
- Filling in a notification of the accident and forwarding it within 24 hours to the address of the renting country.
In case the vehicle is not in use by the Lessee, the Lessee should take precautions to avoid eventual accidents or theft and should lock the doors of the vehicle.
All damage caused to the car or to the coachwork, the upper parts or lower parts including, chassis, roof, windshield, head lamps, tail lamps, windows, etc. are at the Lessee’s charge, even if he accepted and obtained the collision damage waiver.
Lessee shall bear a change sum of QR. 2500 as excess to damage for each accident unless Lessee had paid the disclaimer fees of the damages that might result from the accident. Unknown third party claims are not covered by insurance even if the disclaimer fees and collision damage waiver is obtained. Lessee will be liable for the excess to damage of QR. 1000/- 2000 accident claim.
The Lessee should not use the vehicle for off-road driving, motor sports, rallying, towing or any activities that may damage the vehicle. Hire is responsible for any damage to the vehicle due to any misuse.
The vehicle will not be used for transportation of any illegal substances (alcohol, drugs, etc.) or transport merchandise or transport passengers for hire or any other illegal act. In case of fines or confiscation of the vehicle the Lessee is responsible for payment for all damages to the owner, like full value of the vehicle fines, claims of passengers, third party claims and loss of income and loss of rental.
- No insurance coverage is applicable if:
- The hired or driver during period of the rental sublets the vehicle with or without his/her consent.
- The driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of accident.
- The vehicle is driven by an unauthorized driver.
- In such cases the hirer is liable to pay for all damages to the vehicle, third party expenses, passengers in the vehicle and the rental value for the total number pf days the vehicle is under repair in the workshop and fines.
The Lessee is not permitted to take the vehicle outside the State of Qatar, or in geographical areas which have been defined by the Lessor, traffic department, insurance company etc. as restricted zones.
The Lessee should observe the traffic rules and regulations and will be liable to pay for penalties arising from traffic offenses along with applicable service charges.
The Lessee will return the vehicle with all its types, car documents accessories and equipment to Regency Fleets Car Rental station in the town where said vehicle was leased and at latest on the indicated date. Every prolongation will be asked in writing to the Lessor and has to be accepted by the Lessor.
The Lessor cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage to any property, goods or material transported or left in the vehicle by the Lessee.
The Lessee will be held responsible for the loss or damage to the vehicles and or vehicle parts and components including the radio, dashboard, upholstery, carpets, boots, seats, etc. resulting from transporting goods/materials in the vehicle.
The Lessee shall indemnify and hold harmless Lessor, its employees and agents from and against any loss liability and expense arising directly or indirectly from:
- Any breach of the terms of this agreement by the Lessee.
- Loss or damage to the vehicle
- Death or injury to any person arising out of the operation or usage of vehicle
- Loss of or damage to any property suffered by Lessee or third parties arising out of the operation or usage of the vehicle of for loss of or damage to Lessee’s property transported or left in the vehicle or for loss or inconvenience resulting from delivery delays, breakdown or any cause beyond Lessor’s control.
My signature overleaf constitutes authority to debit my nominated credit card by the Lessor for all damages incurred to the vehicle and the whole rental value in the event that the vehicle was impounded, without the need to have an additional signature or I will pay to the company the total amount due in cash.
Tire change due to negligence or willful act such as (impact damages) will be charged to the Lessee.
The vehicle will only be services and repaired at Regency Fleets authorized workshop, and must be delivered prior to service at the Lessor’s office. Service schedule would be provided by the Lessor. Any damage resulting from failure of regular servicing and/or loss of part of the vehicle would be borne by the Lessee.
Additional servicing or repair required as a result of user negligence or misuse will be charged to the Lessee.
It is the Lessee’s responsibility to ensure that oil, water and fluid levels as well as tire pressure is regularly checked. Costs incurred due to negligence in this respect will be borne by the Lessee. Failure to carry out these checks could result in damage to the vehicle, the repair of which will be the Lessee’s expense. The Lessee should ensure that the vehicle is regularly cleaned, maintained, and kept in good overall condition. Vehicle cleaning charges will be at the cost of the Lessee.
A police report of insurance claim and police repair slip must be obtained from the Police Department for every accident. Failure to supply the required document will result in the Lessee becoming liable for 100% if the cost of repairs. Accident occurring under the influence of alcohol, drugs, prohibited intoxicants, reckless driving and accident occurring in areas not recognized by the traffic department will not be covered by the Insurance Policy. The Lessee will be liable for the total cost of the accident including the leased vehicle, Third Party’s vehicle, Government of Private property, endangered life etc.
Suitable vehicle will be provided to the Lessee provided he/she notifies his/her rental agent three days prior to the service. A replacement vehicle will also be provided in case of an accident or breakdown (police report has to be obtained). In case for total loss a replacement car similar to the car leased will be provided.
Replacement vehicle will not be provided on instances of accident occurring in territories not recognized by traffic department/not covered by the insurance police/ in case the vehicle is impounded by Government Departments for violation of the law or in case of an accident dispute referred for Legal Court Hearing.
Any violation of the terms and conditions of the lease contract/rental agreement by any used of the leased/ rented/replaced vehicle will be at the sole responsibility of the Lessee.
Should there be any breach by the Lessee on the terms and conditions of the contract: the Lessee becomes liable for 100% repair expenses or cost of vehicle.
The Lessee undertakes to abide by all traffic regulations of the State of Qatar. Any violation of the traffic law will result in penalties which will be charged to the Lessee.
